February 2012 Muscle Car Review

A great big thanks to all who called or emailed about my '69 W-31 on the cover and article in MCR. You guys and gals are the greatest!!!
That issue is chock-full of neat Oldsmobiles and real interesting stories associated with them.
Thanks again everybody, and as always---until next time..... Dave.

Is a good month for olds , that is a killer 69 . Color , flare and charmed life it sounds like it has had. Much better looking car than the 69 motion car IMO .

Just got my copy. An Oldsmobile extravaganza. Congratulations Jason, Dave, Ron and others on the articles and pictures of their great cars. Our own Kurt as our representative of Oldsmobile on the web site WildaboutCars.com and Bob G's article was also very well done. It seems to have been the goal to have an Oldsmobile issue and they did a good job. I got a couple cameo shots too!

Guys:

Can I ask all of you who go out and buy singles issues of MCR when Olds stuff is in there that you SUBSCRIBE to the magazine. The magazine attracts advertisers on the basis of subscriptions and MCR has a very low rate of subscribers.

You are also missing out on Oldsmobiles that appear on a monthly basis and are featured in the non-annual issues. Auto magazines are in a precarious position because of the Internet, and if you like the idea of Oldsmobiles in print, subscribe.

I know the editor of of this magazine - and he has told me if a rash of subscriptions come in after the feature a brand, they will be more inclined to feature that brand more often. We did not get Dick Miller coverage this year, because after last year's spread (4 pages) there was no subscriptions.

If you want to see more Oldsmobiles in these magazines do two things: 1) buy a subscription (they are practically giving them away now) and 2) write a letter to the editor raving about the issue.

No, I really don't want to break anything. My '72 is getting close to being finished and taking first priority now. If I "lean" on the '69 W-31 I know low 12s are easily attainable, but I'm not too serious about searching for ETs. My "competitive" racing days are behind me.

Didn't go too hard here, but still fun to watch:

Hey 72w29 all green, You'll LOVE the '72 Im working on. Code #4848 Sequoia Green, Gold stripes, Saddle interior. 350, M20, 3:91. 99% finished frame-off with some
(other than stock) subtle additions. Everything (as in EVERYTHING) is rebuilt, replated, repainted, re-covered, and/or new.
Now if I could just learn how to post photos......................

I'd like to see pictures of the '72. I see you're in MD. My car is garaged in VA about an hour from where 301 meets the Potomac.
