B&M makes a universal shifter for automatics that might work. It is a calble shifter that can be used with powerglides and turbo 350's and probably 400's. Hurst makes a low-cost line called Indy shifters. They also have a universal AT floor shifter called the Indymatic. It uses a rod to actuate the trans shift arm.
