You could also put a battery disconnect on the battery terminal. This would only slow the thieves down though, as they would find a way to pop the hood pretty quickly by defeating the cable type release mechanism. If you use the method Jesse mentioned, find a way to hide the switch. I don't know if they make them or not but a cool way to do it would be to have a push/pull switch camoflaged (sp?) under the cigarette lighter button. Push to connect, pull to dis-connect.
