Don, I understand what you mean, take care of your ride, and it will take care of you. I agree that the Olds engines are pretty much indestructible. I had one start smoking a little on me and it needed the heads rebuilt, another that difinitely "BIT THE DUST", the engine siezed up. Extenuating circumstances were this, it was used by previous owner to tow a boat and I think he wasn't too careful about maintenance. I suspected that when I bought the car but decided to drive it till it dropped, it lasted almost four years. That was a '76 98 Regency with a 455/400. What a smooth ride though, the 98s are very comfortable cars.
