Oldsmobile engine specs...check this out!!!
i don't know if anybody has presented this chart before, but it lists all the factory specs, horsepower, torque, timing, etc. very cool!!! i got some info i had been looking for for a while from this chart, hope it helps someone else on here.

I can't claim to be an expert on these things, but the 400/325 is missing for 1968.
So while the format may be dandy, I'd have to go over the thing with a fine-tooth comb and an accurate resource to know whether it's a reliable compilation of data.

so they left out some engines....okay, can anyone find anything wrong with the specs on the engines they do list?? like, is the timing wrong?? are the horsepowers wrong?? torques wrong?? i'm just trying to determine if this is worth taking into consideration. i have been looking for specs on my 330 for a long time, and havn't been able to find anything this detailed. maybe whoever made this chart couldn't confirm some information in the 68 400/325 motors u mentioned?? just a thought...

If you have a good resource to double-check information, by all means be my guest. I just happened to notice one omission. Was it overlooked? Was it due to sloppy research? I don't know, which is why if I was using the info for my own purposes, I'd try to find other resources to verify. There's plenty of misinformation floating around the Internet and my bookshelves for me to totally rely on someone's hard work.

The best source of that info is the factory Chassis Service Manual for your year. All 1964-1967 Olds V8 motors did use forged cranks.

The larger of the two tables in question looks to me like it is scanned (or typed?) from a 1969 Chilton manual. I'd have to go dig mine out to be sure, but they cover the entire range of American cars, span the previous ten years, and have tables that look just like this. I've always kept a small collection of them (they tend to be less than $5 at flea markets) to use "in case of emergency" if I drag home an old car I've got no manuals for.
I guess now with this thing called the internet I don't need them anymore.

The problem with any list compiled from other than factory sources is the opportunity to "lose" an entry. These lists are handy references, but will never be as accurate as the original materials.
We even have them at WAC, but for accuracy, always try for the factory specs. If you guys have never seen the Factory submissions to AMA, you ought to check them out, because, they are quite detailed. The only thing they might miss is somethig issued after the submission, though the manufacturers were supposed to update their info.

Me, personally appreciate any and all info!! What works for one person may work for others. I've got motors manuals from the 1960 - 1975, and believe me, they are plagued by errors.
I want to thank 1965cutlassragtop for his input, and in no way want to see anyone discouraged in the future for bringing in new info!!!!!
