I'm looking for window felts and door seals etc. for a 68 cutlass soft top. Can anyone recomend a company that sells good quality parts at a reasonable price. Thanks!

Fusick has them listed on page 67 of their 2010 catalogue. $119.00 for the whole kit. Good deal now that $C is worth 1.02 US http://www.fusick.com/catfile/Catalo...yout%20100.pdf (this is a big file so it takes time to load. save it as a pdf in your computer for easy reference)

Parts Place also has them for a lot cheaper, but they do not have the correct round bead for the bright reveal that Fusick's has http://www.thepartsplaceinc.com/ocat...D=11&curpage=3

Anyway, you get the idea. There are plenty of aftermarket sources for the parts you are looking for.

Just a suggestion: I wouldn't use BAP (Brothers Automotive Parts) if they paid me to buy. Got ripped off 2X by them. There are a lot of others on this site that have been similarly treated by them.

Hope your project turns out. Are you coming to the Rocket Roundup this year in Olds? Carstairs isn't that far away, and we'd love to see that 68 of yours!

I concur with Allen R. I guess I got lucky with BAP because I did buy a few things from them and it turned out fine. But Fusick is the best place, in my opinion.

I bought outer sweeps from Legendary. They look like a feather duster. Nothing like the originals

I bought an entire weatherstripping kit from adealsap on ebay. The entire weatherstripping convertible kit including 68 vent windows came to $330 shipped. It mostly Metro. I haven't installed everything but the vent window stuff fit fine

68442Convertible

I have a similar question. I want to replace the window felts on a 68 442 Convertible. I see several of places to buy them. They appear to be made by several companies in both and OE style and an improved style. I have seen some postings about various ones not fitting properly - not bent in the right shape, mounting holes in the wrong place.

Does anyone have a brand or source that they think fits properly and looks original?

Is there a brand that is better than original that I should consider?

I got mine from Fusick back in the 2006-2007 time frame and they fit and work fine to this day. They are reproduced to look as original.

Thanks Randy C. I will order from Fusick. I read that some folks had fit problems with theirs, but that was for a different year.

I have another question for you.

If I wash my car or park in a heavy rain, my top leaks on each side of the rear window. Water accumulates in the well where the top is stored. I don't wash the car very often, but I do take it on overnight road trips, and sometimes it rains.

My plastic window is in a section of the vinyl top that is attached to a trim stick in the trunk and to the rear metal bow/crosspiece of the top. The main part of the vinyl top is outside of the section with the window and overlaps it. The two sections are not glued/sealed together. Water runs down the window, seeps between the two sections of the top, and gets into the car.

I talked to a couple of convertible top experts. I cleaned the rear drain tray and drains. Put some clear spacers on the window to hold it away from the car body and let more water run into the drain tray. Put some self sticking gasket material between the 2 sections. Still get some water in.

I am considering gluing/sealing the 2 sections of the top together - at least the bottom several inches.

Did you have this problem - and did you figure out what to do about it?
