I'm new to forum's so please bear with me while I learn. I have considered putting the olds 7" rods / 455 crank / pontiac pistons in a 425 block - as you have mentioned. Have you trial fitted this combination? I have some questions. Is the bottom of the bore in the 425 block notched for rod clearance like the 455 block? Do the big-ends of the rods clear the camshaft (the bolt heads of the 455 rods are much closer to the parting line - I assume to prevent interference with camshaft)? The long rod with the long stroke will move the beam of the rod closer to the cylinder wall at maximum rod angle - do they clear? Any information you have regarding this combination would be appreciated. Thanks. Mike
