72 cutlass "S"

selling my 72 olds cutlass "S",i just bought it in September, the guy i bought it off of tells me the engine, trans, and rear-end have all been recently rebuilt at the same time..
its in excellent shape, no rust, no dents, scratches, or misaligned panels.
rear quarters were completely replaced within a year ago,and was panted black this past summer.. lots of new parts,
new fully functional outside air induction hood,
new bumper front and rear
autometer phantom speedo and tach gauges, sunpro oil and coolant temp gauges
new carpet, door panels, rear panels, roof liner, stereo, with kenwood amp and pioneer 6"x9" speakers
all wiring has been re-done under dash ,

engine is a freshly rebuilt, (under 1000 miles) built chevy 402ci big block, bored to a 409ci, with forged internals, roller rockers, street/strip cam, full header-back exhaust, with magnaflow mufflers
freshly rebuilt muncie 4 speed trans, ( has a oil leak in the main shaft seal) (also so im told it needs to be adjusted because 2nd gear slips out sometime) but other than that shifts smoothly.
holly 750 4 barrel carb rebuilt and tuned this October,
edelbrock victor intake manifold
jegs valve covers
ARP studs
accel distributor
not sure the gear ratio of the rearend but is a 12 bolt
new air shocks front and rear, new breaks front and rear, with drilled rotors up front, and stainless braided breaklines..
17 gallon fuel cell with stainless breaded fuel line rear to front car runs, drives and handles excellent, has a ton of power, and sounds amazing,
im sure im forgetting alot of parts but almost everything has been gone over in this car and needs very little to be complete, like door and trunk gaskets, stuff like that.
price is 13000 obo, drive it home

Just to say, I have alot more into mine even doing the work myself. However, I knew this going into it, and no I am not planning on selling mine. Really nice Cutlass's from what I've seen, (with original Olds engines) are going for 6-8K in this economy and time of year. Good Luck

Personally, I'd tell you to fork out the $400 and reupholster the seats yourself.
(Unless they need new seat foams too, then add on another $200 iirc)
That's going to get you more attention, and it's a small investment.

Also, missing chrome trim pieces on the drivers side front rim isn't going to help you either.

Try advertising on Craigslist, Kijiji, Oodle < All 3 are free.
Then try www.cars-on-line.com and Auto Trader Classic

You've only had the car for 1-2 months ??
Did you buy it hoping to flip it for more money then you bought it for ??

thanks for the help, i used to drive a VERY fast little turbo charged 4 banger car, and wanted more power, always loved muscle car, so i sold my little car and bought this, but came to realize it too big for my taste, it powerfull as hell, but still too big for me, so im going back to a little car with a big powerplant
it is unfortunate about the seats.. iv put alot of money into this car as it is and had lots of plans for it (supercharger, suspension upgrades, ect) but just kinda started to loose interest in it,
id be happy just getting back what i have into it as far as price goes, which is $10,500 thats why i say try me
thanks again for the help
joe

unfortuanetly on 2 things, how much money and time you put in it never work out for some reason (or my caprice would be worth a heck of a lot more lol) and 2: lot of guys on car specific forums i have noticed like original engines or at least right company in there cars ><.

Little turbocharged 4 bangers are going to be alot more nimble and faster then these.
Obviously it only took you 1 month to realize that.

Especially if it's a true rallye car like an EVO or WRX Sti.
The Cobalt SS turbo is the fastest FWD car around Nurburgring too.
Then there's the turbo skittle Neon SRT4's.....but Dodge quality is very subpar IMO.

I'm sure you've seen big blocks suck gas like pigs too especially with no OD trans. LOL
They're referred to as Pig Blocks for a reason.
That's why I was considering an LSX engine in mine, I've done one already.

Drive an EVO or STI, I think your mind will change on that one.
They'll run circles around these classic Olds cars. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQ7R_buZPSo
But you're right on one note.....they're easier to work on.

HOWEVER......they are a dime a dozen, and don't turn heads like classic Detroit Muscle does.

i agree completely.. i love driving the car, im not scared of the fuel mileage ether.. ( my honda 4 banger was believe it or not worse, and it sucked down aviation fuel lol..
i wish i had an original engine it but of course i bought it that way.. i take back what i said earlier, i didnt realize that i dont like it any more, more or less i changed my mind and would just like to try something else.. who knows if it doesn't sell maybe i will put that supercharger on

Your joking right????? Maybe your car.

Yeah they little rice burners can handle better. But lets see what happens stop light to stop light. I have never been beat on the street. I love beating these little 40k + riceburners on the street. They rev the little turbo at a light, i look over and smile. I always let them take the hit first, then come around them like a slingshot. Its even better when they have a girl in the car.

What car was that, and what was done to it? Z06 vette? so your rice burner had to be in the 11s?

Any chance you're interested in trading for an 87 Vette? Keep the v8 torque and get a car that drives like its on rails!

I'll call BS on a new C6 Z06 vette. Rolling races are gay BTW.

Porsche boxsters don't count either......even if it was a dude trying to drive it.
Either way, we're getting way off track here. Good luck with your sale.

Should have tried a built 455 instead of the 402 Notice my old ziff396 thing! No comparison. You could also try the new Camaro with 572 hp and turbo for about the same price as a Vette! There is one at the dealer here in Mi.

There's alot of fanatic purists on this board you'll soon realize.

That's why I said, it's probably not the best place for you to advertise.
Try the other sites I gave you too.

I talked about an LSX swap and all the weirdo's come out of the woodwork.
