1977 88 pace car

Hello all,new member here with my first post.

I just bought 2 77 delta 88 pace care replicas. I know these cars are rare because it is 35 years later and there were only 2400 made. Rare doesn't mean valuable so I think a long expensive perfection driven restoration is unrealistic. I was hoping that there were some people on here that also like this body style and have access to information and maybe parts too that may help me get the vehicles as close to original as possible.

Does anyone know how many real pace cars are still out there? Or know the right people to ask these questions to.

I can't answer your questions, but really like those cars. My first car was a '77 Delta 88 Royale (2dr). Same basic body as the pace cars. If you have any pictures I'd love to see them. Good luck. Tom

Welcome. I love all the pace cars and replicas. I have always liked the Delta 2-doors and being a Pace Car Replica just makes it all the more special.

I like those Delta 88s. One time I saw a 78 Holiday 88 with T-tops in the slavage yard. I bet it had been an awsome car at one time. We look forward to receiving updates on your project.

Are you sure it was a Delta? T-tops weren't an option, unless someone had them installed aftermarket. That had to look strange, considering the b-bodies doors were full frame windows.

Are you sure it was a Delta
Yes. Although I might be mixing up two cars I saw in the past. I'm sure I saw the blue 78 Holiday 88 (I thought it had T tops, or maybe a moonroof). Oldsguy was with me. We got the console from it since it was a floor shift car, the SS wheels off of it, and the rear view mirrors. We ended up sanding and painting the console and installed it in Oldsguy's 69 Delta 88. We also installed the mirrors and SS wheels. Here is a pic of Oldsguy's car after he got it painted:

That is gonna be one sweet ride! I always liked those and the Buick Lesabre Turbo 3.8 cars back in the late 70's.

Welcome aboard!

I am a the proud owner of a 78 Holiday 88 that I am slowly restoring/updating...

These are a special breed, a special ride. And I've already had a lot of fun with mine!

I'd love to get my hands on one that's got a decent dutchman panel.

I have one, and can answer questions for you. I don't know it all , but can provide assistance.

To find out everything, contact Jeff Croce @ paceindy77@yahoo.com. He is THE resource for these cars and is the Advisor for the Oldsmobile Club of America. He also has set up a "Group" on Yahoo dedicated to the 77 Pacer.

Hope this helps
