heater control valve

ok so after putting my engine back together i find that my heater control valve is leaking coolant out the side of it when i put it under pressure. its leaking out the side of it on one of the moving parts on it
so i go to the auto parts store to pick one up and this is what shows up on their computer for my car for replacement part..something more like this..
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ksid=p3907.m29
however the one that is currently in the intake manifold looks like this...

notable differences would be what looks like something plugged into the side of it where the one at the auto parts store didnt have that.
what's the difference?can i make the one at the auto parts store work? what's the big difference in the 2?
