Be sure to clean up all of the crud inside the cavity, you will be breathing it in, and a new blower motor wouldn't hurt either while you're there.

This car sets in my garage I don't rely on it for work, them daze is gone! Yea, if I needed to drive it, I'd plug off the heater hoses. I drive this car when I want, second owner.
I did replace the blower motor earlier this year, core was leaking worse than I suspected, but not bad enough to run on the floor board, thanks for the quick replies from everyone!
