First, that's not a VIN tag, it's a body data plate. The VIN tag is visible through the windshield on the driver's side of the dash.
Second, what body style is this? The "FT72" (which may be "ST72", check again) would indicate a 1972 model year car. The "3S667" would indicate a convertible - the "67" is the two digit code for the convertible body. The first "3" indicates Oldsmobile division. The problem is the "S6", which is not a valid code. This should be two digits, not a letter and number combination. In 1972, the only possible Cutlass or 442 convertible body would have been based on the Cutlass Supreme, which should have been "42" in those locations on the data plate. In other words, for the 1972 model year, that body code for a convertible would have been 34267, not 3S667. Look more carefully and try to see what that "S" really is. Also, try to check the real VIN on the dash.
