My mother taught me the basics of flying starting when I was 8. I took ground school at 15 and soloed at 16. I entered the Air Force and got the job I wanted...airframe repair. When I got out of the AF I worked at a small airport working on civilian aircraft while doing odd jobs in exchange for flying time. I would tool around on my lunch hour over the lakes. Don't let it get to be such a burden as to where it is not fun any more.

By the way, the AF GI bill paid for my college where I was able to earn an AA degree and a BA in education. I am now on a VA disability and am trying to keep an old 1984 Delta 88 together.
Thanks for the advice, ztim. I'm really looking forward to where aviation takes me, and agree with you that the field has alot of opportunity. Right now I'm loving flying and it isn't all that stressful. I'm not sure if I mentioned it before, but I almost have my private pilots certificate, with just over 50 hours. Right now I'm on the final checkride here at UND. Sure am looking forward to getting into the instrument and multi engine courses!
