Hi Norm,

Actually Olds did use the term Sports Sedan in 61. It was one of the 3 different 4-door models available. Here is a pic of the literature back in 1961.



Down in the lower right corner you'll see that indeed it states that a "Sport Sedan" is one of the models. In the copy above the pictures at the bottom, it states that "There's the Sport Sedan to impart the spirit of youth in Ninety-Eight elegance."

I've seen the production #s online somewhere (can't recall the website right now) and it showed that just over 4,000 Sport Sedans were made in 1961.

I'll check the tag and report back what I find.
